I flipped on "Meet the Press" yesterday morning, totally unaware of who would be on, and was glued to the television listening to Colin Powell endorse Barack Obama for president. Yes, Powell is one of the most successful African American public servants in our country, but that doesn't have anything to do with it. He has recognized that his friend John McCain has departed from his original promises and principles. I'm sure this will sway some more voters to vote for Senator Obama, but by itself, this is a pretty inspiring few minutes of television that Powell provided me.
